In search of Spirituality

As long as I can remember, I have always had a faith in God, and in having that faith, I was able to get through the many troubled times in my life. The teachings of Jesus Christ, and the scriptures in the King James version of the Bible. Have been my corner stone of who I am today. But as you get older, and experience life on lifes terms. Many questions seem to arise. Like why are we really here? How can there be so much cruelty in the world? etc. etc. I have done deep studies thru the scriptures, science discoveries, sumerian teachings, pagan beliefs, and my own feelings of being connected with other living things. I can feel that there is something greater going on. There are so many people through time and present-who say there is another dimension. There is a heaven and hell. The churches all say that their way is the only way to reach God. And so on and so on. But not one human-religious church-cult or group can physicaly prove anything that they say. Just as I can not prove to you how having blind faith has helped me personaly aquire the strenghts and choices I've made to reach to today. I do not follow man-made religions. But have take alittle of this and that from different teachings from time, which seem to work for me. So are there others out there who feel or seek that big mystical questions? Why are we really here? and Where do we go from here?

Stroke caused by Hormone pills and smoking

I had a stroke Feb. 07. 2008. The doctors told me that it was caused from taking my soybean  based hormone pill, smoking, and coffee combined. My doctor in california 9 yrs ago who placed me on the hormone pill told me that it was the safest hormone to take, and that I didn't need to worry. She also new that I was a smoker also at the time. The doctor that treated my stroke said that I was very lucky. Because you cannot mix this hormone pill with caffeine and nicotine. The result of the stroke caused me to lose 50% of my sight for about 5 months. I have regained about 90% of my sight back, but have had to chance my complete life style. A low sodium diet, excercise daily, no smoking, no reg. coffee-only decaf. I am healthier now, as long as I continue my recovery program. And take the prescribed blood pressure medicine every day. It has been a big change in my life, but if I want to live. I had to change my life. What are you doing in your stroke recovery or someone you know who had a sroke to change your life?
